According to industry magazine Billboard , Megadeth have reached an agreement with their former manager Cory Brennan. Dave Mustaine and Co. agreed to pay $1.4 million to the businessman, who filed a lawsuit last year alleging that the thrash metal group owes him and his company Five B Artist Management more than $1 million in unpaid fees after the band "unceremoniously" fired him just to install Mustaine's son Justis as their new manager.

The legal dispute between Megadeth and Cory Brennan is not over yet, however. Mustaine filed a countersuit in 2023. In it, the 63-year-old claims that Brennan was kicked out because of "repeated management errors" that "seriously damaged Megadeth's reputation and even David Mustaine's physical health ." The former Metallica guitarist is still seeking a lawsuit. According to Brennan, Mustaine hired him in 2014 to revive his then-stagnating career. The band released the mixed studio album SUPER COLLIDER in 2013.

Billboard also published a statement from Brennan's attorney Howard King, which reads: "Dave Mustaine -- who is known for firing consultants -- has terminated Five B Artist Management, which spent nine years reviving his career. Dave simply refused to pay back outstanding fees, forcing Five B to sue. In doing so, Mustaine ignored the success Five B helped him achieve -- which included a campaign to win his first Grammy, the release of two hit albums and the expansion of his touring from small clubs back to arenas and amphitheaters."
